My father in law passed away a couple of weeks ago, and I have been a little bit busy to blog.

Death is scary to me.

I don’t want to die. Ever.

I love life and I love to live.

I don’t want to leave my children and hopefully someday grandchildren.

My father in law was lucky in a sense. He died very peacefully, and for that I am thankful.

My mom died a horrible death.

I hate Cancer.

It’s ugly.

Why are we more humane to our animals they we are to our human loved ones?

When cats and dogs have cancer and there is no hope of survival we don’t let them suffer.

The vet very quietly and very quickly gives them an injection and they go to sleep.

I would much rather have seen my mom go like that instead of the months of torture she went through.

My post is a little dark. I’m sorry.

So maybe the number 13 has come to an end as being my lucky number. I had a root canal on tooth number 13 about a month ago. An infection in the bone and root set in and now I have to have surgery to clean it out. I am not looking forward to it. I have to say though I have all the confidence in the world with Dr. Waterman. 😦  I still love the number 13 though! Cody Ross was number 13 with the SF Giants. There are 13 donuts in a bakers dozen. Maybe I will give number 13 one more try.

Don’t fail me #13.

Yesterday, I got all of this glorious Tim Holtz stuff for my birthday from various people. I’m in heaven. I also got gift certificates to Michael’s and Home Depot, and a GREAT bottle of Chardonnay. I’m a spoiled and happy lady!

Faux Riveted Metal

Posted: May 16, 2013 in Uncategorized

I love to try new things! I have been wanting to try the riveted metal look for some time now but couldn’t get inspired. I was at my local craft store and ran across paper mache letters at $1.00 each. The light bulb went off. The roll of metal tape is from a hardward store and you can find it in plumbing. A new internet friend of mine ran a bunch of them through her Vagabond and sent them to me. 🙂 I also used a Pitch Black paint daubber. Image

The second photo is the finished product. I still have the “E” to do, and I can’t wait. I love this kind of stuff. I think this turned out pretty cool.

I love our garden.

I am so glad my partner has a green thumb and loves to “play” in the garden. We have been having beautiful salads picked fresh from the yard. Nothing better than that! Now we just can’t wait until the tomatoes get ripe. Grow baby grow!

What do I do while she is gardening? I play with ink and stamps of course. :0)

Meet Pippa, she’s my grand dog. She loves to come to our house and swim in our pool. I love this photo of her, it looks like she is grinning.

Are you a baby when it comes to going to the dentist? I am!

If all you have ever heard about root canals is horror stories, I’m hear to tell you something different. It was NOTHING to go through! It was better than getting my teeth cleaned or getting a filling. It didn’t hurt at all.

I had the root canal done yesterday. Yes it hurt after the numbness wore off….yes it hurts today…but it feels better than when I had the infection in my roots and bone. I’m taking super extra strength Ibuprofen so that helps.

If you need a root canal, don’t wait like I did, get it taken care of right away. Trust me, there is nothing to it.

Have a great day!
